Meet Jessica
Hi! I’m Jessica Allmyer BSN, RN, IBCLC and proud owner of Cincinnati Lactation!
I am an Ohio native that returned to the Cincinnati area in 2020 after years of living in other parts of the country and, for a short time, overseas. As a nurse, I practiced in an OB office and then in the hospital on a postpartum unit before transitioning to becoming a lactation consultant.
While I knew that maternity was my calling, it was really the birth of my own daughter that launched my love of all things lactation.

After my daughter was born I found the help of a local support group and an IBCLC that changed the way I saw breastfeeding and helped me see how important good support is.
Before my daughter was even 8 months old I started intensive studying to become a lactation consultant.
I then transitioned from the postpartum floor to the lactation department. Eventually I realized that I wanted to give families more support without the limitations at the hospital bedside, so I moved towards private practice.
I am absolutely passionate about promoting breastfeeding, but I am equally as passionate about supporting the needs of new parents. I recognize that the choices around infant feeding are often multifaceted and in all situations, women/parents are deserving of support, education, and care.
Providing compassionate, evidence-based, family-centered, and holistic care without pressure is of the utmost importance to me. I honor YOU and YOUR journey and I aim to help you meet YOUR goals.
To provide the highest quality care to the families I serve, I constantly seek out learning opportunities and participate in professional trainings and workshops. I love learning and always look for new ways to add to my skill set. I have advanced training in oral assessment, oral restrictions, managing growth curves, navigating milk supply and more!
Outside of lactation, I am a mother to an amazingly spirited 10 year old and wife to my highschool sweetheart. I enjoy sewing, baking, working out and our family is deeply involved in Irish dancing. I’ve got 2 cats (no worries, they do not have access to my consultation supplies) and even though I don’t naturally have a green thumb, I try to keep my plants going.
